Clinical Expertise
GAE: Non-Surgical Knee Pain Relief
Dr. Nawaz is one of the Dallas–Fort Worth area's specialists in Genicular Artery Embolization (GAE) — a minimally invasive outpatient procedure for patients with knee osteoarthritis who want to avoid or delay knee replacement surgery. Using advanced fluoroscopic imaging, Dr. Nawaz precisely maps and embolizes the abnormal blood vessels that drive chronic knee pain, offering patients a same-day procedure with rapid return to activity.
GAE is particularly well-suited for patients who have tried steroid injections, physical therapy, or bracing without achieving lasting relief, and who are not yet ready or not appropriate candidates for total knee replacement.
Plantar Fasciitis Embolization (PFE): Chronic Heel Pain Relief
Dr. Nawaz also specializes in Plantar Fasciitis Embolization (PFE), an advanced non-surgical treatment for patients with chronic heel pain that has not responded to conservative care. The procedure targets the neovascularization (abnormal blood vessel growth) that sustains the inflammatory cycle in chronic plantar fasciitis, providing durable pain relief without surgery, incisions, or extended downtime.
Ideal PFE candidates include patients who have experienced heel pain for six months or more, and have already tried stretching, orthotics, steroid injections, or shockwave therapy without lasting improvement.
Cardiovascular Disease
Beyond his embolization practice, Dr. Nawaz provides expert management of the full spectrum of cardiovascular conditions, including peripheral artery disease (PAD), venous disorders (varicose veins, chronic venous insufficiency), coronary artery disease, heart failure, hypertension, and carotid artery stenosis. His interventional training allows him to bring both medical management expertise and procedural precision to complex vascular cases.

Philosophy of Care
Dr. Nawaz believes that patients living with chronic pain deserve more than a choice between indefinite conservative management and invasive surgery. By combining the diagnostic precision of interventional cardiology with minimally invasive embolization techniques, he offers Dallas–Fort Worth patients a third path — one that is evidence-based, outpatient, and designed around getting back to life as quickly as possible.
